Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies has a Quality Assurance System which is closely aligned to norms and standard of the UGC, NAAC and other regulatory bodies having jurisdiction over the University system. The system take cares of the objectives of the state policy for higher education and to meet the aspirations of its various stakeholders. The system keeps itself constantly updated to the changing quality assurance standards of the various regularity bodies as implemented from time to time.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the University continuously upgrades and maintains its quality assurance system as spelled out in the following sections:

Objectives

  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

Role of IQAC in Quality Assurance System

The role of the IQAC of the University in driving the Quality Assurance System is to:

  • Ensure heightened level of clarity and focus in institutional functioning towards quality enhancement.
  • Ensure internalization of the quality culture.
  • Ensure enhancement and coordination among various activities of the institution and institutionalize all good practices.
  • Provide a sound basis for decision-making to improve institutional functioning.
  • Act as a dynamic system for quality changes in HEIs.
  • Build an organized methodology of documentation and internal communication.

Quality Assurance Functions

The following are the main quality assurance functions to be performed by the IQAC:

  • Development and application of quality benchmark/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
  • To Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
  • Dissemination of information on various quality assurance parameters of higher education.

Strategic Components of Quality Assurance

IQAC evolves mechanisms and procedures for the following strategic components of Quality Assurance:

  • Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
  • The relevance and quality of academic and research programs.
  • Equitability access to and affordability of academic programs for various sections of society.
  • Optimization and integration to modern methods of teaching and learning.
  • The credibility of evaluation procedures.
  • Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services.
  • Sharing of research findings and networking with other institutions in India and abroad.

Curriculum Design and Development

IQAC evolves mechanisms and procedures for the following strategic components of Quality Assurance:

Curriculum Objectives

The main objective of various curricula is to accomplish the mission and vision of the University. It has the following objectives:

  • To raise undergraduates, post graduates and research scholars with humanity by attaining high levels of academic excellence, professional competence, exemplary values and empowerment of positive mind.
  • To help find solutions to human problems through scientific, social and technological research as well as policy formulation.
  • To set up strong interface with industry so as to enable students to understand human needs and sustainable way.
  • To provide the latest domain knowledge with practical applications and ethical orientation.

Planning for Teaching Learning Process

  • The institution at the beginning of each session will prepare academic calendar and annual planning of each department and monitor its execution. Academic calendar should be provided to students for each program of the University.
  • To bring homogeneity among the diversified categories of students, each Faculty will organize orientation programs/induction programs for fresher.
  • Each department will devise a mechanism for distinctive approaches of teaching and learning to be adopted to address the needs of slow learners, average learners and advanced learners.
  • Differently-abled students will be handled with special care and concern.
  • Each department will develop a system of peer learning, student mentoring, team building and organization of events and students involved organizational programs to ensure an inclusive academic ambience in the department.
  • The academic calendar and departmental plan will be prepared in advance and executed meticulously.
  • The departments will use both conventional as well as modern teaching methods to focus more of experimental learning, participative learning and axe-based learning.
  • Student seminars, assignments projects, field work and internship are part of the curriculum in majority of the programs.
  • The advanced learners and research students will take partnership in research projects with the faculty members.
  • The meritorious students will be recognized and awarded special prizes.
  • The student feedback on performance of teachers will be collected and analyzed regularly and based on that measures are taken to improve quality of teaching-learning processes.
  • Teaching load will be prepared by HOD in consultation with the course coordinators and duly vetted by Dean of institution.
  • Course coordinator file should be made ready for every course of department.
  • Lesson plans and tutorial plans should be made ready for every course so as engage in academic delivery more efficaciously.
  • Continuous assessment should be done through viva, quizzes, assignment, presentations as an integral part of our evaluation.
  • Syllabus should be covered uniformly in all the classes strictly according to the lesson plan and tutorial plan.
  • A mechanism will be in place for open classes for all weak students to improve their result.
  • Programme coordinators shall ensure the quality and originality of teaching notes uploaded on the LMS.
  • The rubrics of all types of assessments shall be known to all students in the beginning of each semester.
  • Course outcomes (CO) programme outcomes (PO) and Programme specific outcomes(PSOs) shall be well defined after taking inputs from all stake-holders.
